CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer may have been happy with the Buffalo Bills' outcome on Sunday, but NFL fans weren't as impressed with the way he watched the game.
Blitzer, a lifelong Buffalo fan, watched his beloved Bills reach the divisional round of the NFL playoffs with a 31-7 victory over the Denver Broncos from the comfort of his home on Sunday.
And the 76-year-old toasted the Bills' survival by sharing a photo of himself proudly pointing out the final score on his TV screen.
However, the celebratory photo quickly caught the attention of NFL fans, who zeroed in on one detail in particular.
While Blitzer has been waiting a long time to witness his Bills lift the Lombardi Trophy, it seems like it's been even longer since he bought a new television.
According to his own photograph, the journalist owns a very old home entertainment system, which includes a plasma screen television, DVD, VHS and CD players, and at least four different remote controls.
The CNN anchor watched his beloved Buffalo Bills playoff game from the comfort of his home.
The 76-year-old has long been an avid fan of the Bills, who beat the Denver Broncos on Sunday.
Social media users were quick to criticize Blitzer for his “veteran” setup, as many urged him to update his setup to more modern standards.
'I love both VCRs. You can rewind one while watching another. Veteran move,” one fan posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.
'Bro is stuck in the 80s with his furniture and his TV. I thought @CNN paid better. The audience must be very low,” added another.
“Like most grandparents, a 20-year-old TV with 20-year-old peripherals,” said a third, suggesting Blitzer wouldn't be the only member of his generation with a similar setup.
'Plasma screen from 15 years ago, a DVD player from the same age and a fantastic sound system controller. Average boomer setup. “My in-laws have an identically dated setup,” echoed another.
Others attempted to date the technology, as one posted: “Looks like a lot of 90s tech.” I mean, is that a tube TV?
He still has a VHS, that's crazy,” one bewildered fan simply said.
Meanwhile, others encouraged Blitzer to go to the nearest electronics store.
Fans were quick to criticize the CNN host when they discovered a 'veteran' detail about his TV settings.
'I'm happy for you and your Bills, Wolf. But please remove the VHS player and upgrade your TV,” one responded to Blitzer's post.
“Someone definitely needs to give him a gift card to @BestBuy,” another shared.
'The Situation Room' host has long been an avid Bills supporter.
Born in Augsburg, Germany, Blitzer grew up in Buffalo and graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University at Buffalo before receiving his master's degree from Johns Hopkins University.
