Cole Palmer reached a Premier League milestone by producing a stunning finish that gave Chelsea the lead against Bournemouth on Tuesday night.
The Blues have failed to win any of their last four league games but got off to a fast start at Stamford Bridge when Nicolas Jackson beat Palmer.
Palmer had timed his run perfectly but still had to beat Bournemouth goalkeeper Mark Travers.
Palmer didn't panic when he pretended to shoot but didn't even touch the ball. Travers fell for the hook, line and sinker trap and fell to the ground, leaving Palmer to take advantage of the unprotected side of the net.
It was an incredibly cool finish from the 22-year-old, who celebrated with his usual “shaking” move.
It was also a special moment for him from an individual perspective as he reached 20 Premier League goals (14 goals, six assists) for the season.
Cole Palmer faked a shot and left Mark Travers on the ground before hitting the ball into the unprotected side of the goal.
It was a typically great finish from Palmer, who moved on to 20 goal contributions for the season.
Palmer also achieved that feat last season, becoming the first Chelsea player to reach 20 goals in consecutive seasons since Eden Hazard.
Hazard achieved it in three consecutive campaigns (2012-13, 2013-14 and 2014-15).
Chelsea maintained their lead until the early stages of the second half, but fell behind shortly after the break.
Bournemouth were awarded a penalty when Antoine Semenyo was brought down by Moisés Caicedo, and Justin Kluivert stepped up to level the Cherries.
Semenyo then put Bournemouth ahead with a fierce shot past Robert Sanchez at his near post, but Reece James rescued a point for Chelsea with a free-kick in stoppage time.
