Ange Postecoglou blamed himself for Tottenham's derby defeat against Arsenal but insisted they will continue to fight in their enthusiastic style.
Tottenham had the lead after Son Heung-min's goal in the 25th minute, but trailed 2-1 at half-time after an own goal from Dominic Solanke and a shot from the bottom corner by Leandro Trossard.
Spurs came out firing when Brennan Johnson and James Maddison came on in the second half, but Postecoglou's attacking men only managed two shots on target all night.
Their second derby deficit of the season leaves them 13th in the Premier League with 11 defeats, a personal record for this stage of the campaign and more than Ipswich Town.
“We were not good enough, especially in the first half, we were too passive and let Arsenal take the game, the second half was better, but it was not good enough and it was unacceptable,” Postecoglou said.
'Ultimately, I think the responsibility is mine. It wasn't our intention when we started the game, the second half was better but the first half wasn't even close to the standards we wanted to set.
Ange Postecoglou took the blame for Tottenham's loss to Arsenal on Wednesday
He stated that his performance in the second half was “unacceptable” and that he was “nowhere near” his level.
Arsenal have achieved the double against Spurs for the fifth time in Premier League history.
'I'm more interested in how we play our football.
“We have no other option, to go back to work and prepare for a difficult game.
“They hurt me, but they are not acceptable. We have had too many defeats this year, we have missed too many games and that has to stop.”
'If you give up now, there's no point, but you must stop. “Right now we have an important game on the weekend and that is our focus.”
Tottenham travel to Everton on Sunday and could finish the weekend in 15th place, which would equal their worst Premier League finish under Ossie Ardiles in 1993-94.
On the one hand, it was a positive night for Son, who scored his ninth goal against Arsenal and became the fifth top scorer in London derbies, that is, any derby in the capital.
But Spurs have lost four of their last five Premier League games, drawing the other with Wolves, and are 14 points behind fourth-placed Newcastle.
