Andy Reid is used to coaching Patrick Mahomes on the football field, but now he's doing it in his family life, too.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and his wife Brittany welcomed their third child together, a daughter named 'Golden Raye,' on Monday just in time for this weekend's NFL playoffs.
The Chiefs finally get into playoff action on Saturday when they face the Houston Texans after a wild card bye week, but head coach Reid tried to prepare his questioner for more than just football.
Reid, who shares five adult children with his wife Tammy, offered Mahomes some advice on how to handle a full household on Wednesday.
“Yeah, I think he's doing very well,” Reid said when asked how the veteran quarterback is handling fatherhood. “He came in as Patrick at 2:00 pm, now he's Patrick at 3:00 pm.”
Mahomes insisted he's happy with the size of his brood “for now,” but Reid seemed to be a proponent of the more the merrier.

'Once you have three, four and five are easy. That's what I told him,” Reid said with a smile. “You made three, add a couple more and we'll talk.”
Reid shares sons Garrett, Britt and Spencer Reid and daughters Drew Ann and Crosby Reid with Tammy, to whom he has been married for 43 years.
Meanwhile, the Mahomes' new bundle of joy joins their oldest daughter Sterling Skye, 3, and son Patrick 'Bronze,' 2.
The three-time Super Bowl winner was asked Tuesday if he and his childhood sweetheart, Brittany, wanted to have more children and didn't rule it out.
'My goal was always three. So we've had three,” Mahomes responded. 'We'll stay there for a while and see if we need to come back and get another one later.
'It's great to welcome another girl into our family and see how our children react to her. Having a sissy and stuff like that.
The arrival of Mahomes' third daughter this week means the Chiefs quarterback is avoiding difficult family life decisions that overlap with football and risk missing a game to be present for the birth.
This year has additional meaning for the Chiefs as Mahomes and his team seek a third straight Super Bowl title.
“I think every year is special,” Mahomes said. 'Obviously, you want to win three in a row and build those memories with the guys and the community. But every year is special.
“And when I look back at all the different Super Bowls that we've won, I look back at the special moments that we've had and the special games that we've had. And so we'll try to do the same thing this year.”
If the Chiefs beat the Texans, they will host the winner of the Buffalo Bills and Baltimore Ravens for a spot in the Super Bowl.
