AC Milan close to completing move for Kyle Walker as Italian giants identify Chelsea star as alternative target to Marcus Rashford

  • AC Milan are the clear favorites to sign Manchester City defender Kyle Walker
  • They have cooled their interest in Man United striker Marcus Rashford
  • LISTEN NOW: It's all starting! Is Everton where they deserve to be or are the club's fans deceived?

AC Milan are hoping to complete the signing of Kyle Walker from Manchester City after fresh talks on Friday.

Milan are waiting for City to allow the 34-year-old to leave on a free transfer before making official contact and the Italians will offer him a two-and-a-half-year contract.

That agreement will exclude Milan from signing another British player in this window, such as Marcus Rashford.

The Manchester United forward remains a target for Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona, while Napoli have considered a possibility.

Milan have Chelsea's Joao Felix on a list of possible alternative targets.

Félix joined Chelsea from Atlético Madrid for £42.7m in August, having previously spent the second half of the 2022-23 season on loan at Stamford Bridge.

However, he has only started three Premier League games under Enzo Maresca this season.

Instead, the Portuguese striker has had opportunities in cup matches and has seven goals to his name this season, but has yet to consistently break into Maresca's starting XI.

Maresca has previously spoken about the difficulty he faces playing with Félix and Cole Palmer together, and this tactical conundrum has restricted Félix's minutes.

He could now seek more playing time elsewhere, with Milan emerging as a possible next destination if they opt to agree a deal.
