Tyrrell Hatton edged out Daniel Hillier to win the Dubai Desert Classic by one stroke on Sunday and the financial rewards will be huge.
Overnight leader Hillier birdied the last to put pressure on his playing partner, but Hatton held firm to hole out his par putt from seven feet and secure the victory.
Hatton shot a three-under 69 in the final round to finish 15 under overall to edge out Hillier (71) and fellow Englishwoman Laurie Canter (68) for third, another shot back.
The Hero Dubai Desert Classic will have a purse of £7.4 million in 2025, of which £1.26 million will go to the champion.
Hatton's victory also had added importance in terms of Ryder Cup qualification, as the Englishman earned some vital points.
He hoped to move to the top of the European team points list after the victory in Dubai and to the No. 8 spot in the world golf rankings.

“This event and the four majors are huge for me to try to earn the most points and qualify automatically,” Hatton said. “This is a big step in the right direction.”
His opportunities to earn points will be limited this year due to his loyalty to LIV, but victory in Dubai will certainly increase his chances of breaking into Luke Donald's team.
'It feels amazing. I said earlier in the week that this is one of the events you want to have on your CV. It is an iconic event on the DP World Tour,” said Hatton, who competes in the LIV Golf League.
“To add my name to the list of incredible champions before me, to have my name on that trophy is a dream come true.
“I was pretty nervous on the back nine. I guess I loved him too much. He knew the position he was in. A little scruffy on the last one, but seeing that putt go in was incredible. “I'm very happy to win.”
