TikTok will go back online in the United States on Sunday, just hours after the presidential election Donald Trump announced that it would issue an executive order to restore the platform on Monday.
Not long ago, TikTok released a statement saying, “In consultation with our service providers, TikTok is in the process of restoring service. We thank President Trump for providing our service providers with the clarity and reassurance they need that they will not face penalties. TikTok reaches over 170 million Americans and enables over 7 million small businesses to thrive.”

They continued: “It is a strong stand for the First Amendment and against arbitrary censorship. We will work with President Trump on a long-term solution that keeps TikTok in the United States.”
ICYMI… Donald Trump reached out to Truth Social this morning with a powerful message: He wrote:SAVE TIKTOK” in a post.
He then wrote that he planned to issue an executive order protecting the app on Monday – the same day he will be sworn in as the country's 47th president.
Trump raised the possibility that the US could take a 50% stake in the app… diluting ByteDance's control of the company.

As we told you before … Trump told an NBC News reporter on Saturday that he would “most likely” suspend the ban for 90 days, as required by law. This executive order shows much stronger support for the app – and will likely reassure many influencers.
It's worth noting that this limit was passed by Congress last year – and there are very specific conditions for extending the ban break. It is currently not clear whether an implementing regulation is sufficient to extend the period.

In any case, it looks like Trump is on the side of influencers and content creators – as many believed… and we'll have to wait and see what happens to the popular social media app.
