  • LISTEN NOW: It's all starting! Is Everton where they deserve to be or are the club's fans deceived?

Ella Toone's hat-trick helped Manchester United surprise Manchester City 4-2 and leapfrog their neighbors in the table.

Toone had never found the net against City, but he changed that in a sweeping derby at the Etihad Stadium. Two first-half goals from Toone, along with a 21st-minute tap-in from Leah Galton, put the visitors in control amid an error-strewn City display.

Gareth Taylor's team fought back before the break thanks to Vivianne Miedema and Rebecca Knaak.

This set up an intriguing second half, but Toone completed her hat-trick just seconds after the restart when City goalkeeper Khiara Keating's clearance was disallowed.

Arsenal overcame relegation-threatened Crystal Palace in Renee Slegers' first game since being appointed permanent Gunners manager.

Leah Williamson got the scoring going in the sixth minute before Beth Mead and a double from Mariona Caldentey, one of which was a penalty, ensured her boss's unbeaten run since replacing Jonas Eidevall in October was maintained.

Leaders Chelsea continued their imperious form by defeating West Ham 5-0.

Catarina Macario, Erin Cuthbert, Aggie Beever-Jones and Sandy Baltimore all put in superb efforts to beat goalkeeper Kinga Szemik, before Amber Tysiak's own goal helped the Blues to their biggest away win since September.

A fourth-minute own goal from Leicester goalkeeper Janina Leitzig was all Tottenham needed to take the three points and leapfrog Liverpool into sixth place.
