The New York Jets have reportedly made a “substantial offer” to hire Aaron Glenn as the franchise's new head coach.
The Detroit Lions defensive coordinator was in New Jersey on Tuesday to talk with the Jets after the team's surprising exit from the NFL playoffs on Saturday night.
According to NFL expert Jordan SchultzGlenn landed back in Detroit on Jets owner Woody Johnson's private jet.
The Jets and Glenn are said to have yet to come to terms, but a huge offer was made and the job is Glenn's “if he wants it.”
Glenn's work in helping transform the Lions under Dan Campbell has made him a leading head coaching candidate for teams this offseason.
He is also scheduled to interview with the New Orleans Saints later this week.
