Former Australian hockey player turned media identity Georgie Parker has outraged cricket fans after she compared the exploits of Shane Warne to those of current women's star Alana King.
Parker, a self-confessed cricket tragic, tweeted her belief that many of Warne's 708 Test wickets were “pies”, better known as poor deliveries.
His publishing on: 'I'm going to bother some men here. It was the best we've ever had, but a lot of Warnie's wickets were pies.
“The best ones get wickets with them because you stress the batsman and make him play stupid shots.”

Others have gone a step further online, comparing King's wicket to Warne's iconic 'Ball of the Century' against Mike Gatting in the 1993 Ashes series.

Parker, a self-confessed cricket tragic, tweeted her belief that many of Warne's 708 Test wickets were “pies”, better known as poor deliveries, before praising Alana King.
It followed Alana King dominating England in the Ashes, and her delivery to England's best player Nat Sciver-Brunt in a recent T20 match remains a talking point.

Parker represented Australia in hockey in over 100 games before moving on to play AFLW with Collingwood.

In what would not have been a surprise to Parker, the backlash to his tweet was severe.
'That ball she (King) got the wicket with became a lot, but it was the lack of pace and bounce that killed the batsman. “I’m saying it was more luck than skill,” one responded.
A second said: 'OMG this is a ridiculous shot. “Warne was a master, the best this sport has ever seen and will ever see.”
A third chimed in: 'I don't agree with Warne. Accuracy is what put him ahead of all other leg-spinners and I would be surprised if more than 10 per cent of his wickets came from long jumps or full deliveries.
King, 29, made his debut for Australia in 2022 and impressed in all three formats recently against England, with nine wickets in two ODI matches.
He previously won gold at the Commonwealth Games, ODI World Cup in 2022 and T20 World Cup in 2023.
The player has previously stated that Warne was her inspiration when she was young and was elated after representing Australia in the Ashes.
“I played a lot of cricket here (The Junction in Melbourne) growing up and even started my professional career in Victoria, so this place will always be very special to me,” King said.
“Also, having Shane Warne’s stand here now was quite surreal.”
