Former Cleveland Browns defensive lineman Lonnie Phelps was sentenced to probation this week … over allegations he drunkenly drove his SUV into a restaurant last year.
Court documents obtained from TMZ Sportsshow that Phelps entered a no contest plea to a charge of driving under the influence in a Florida courtroom on Tuesday … about seven months after officials said he was completely incapacitated when he crashed his vehicle into the Red Shoe Island Bistro in Key West crashed.
Documents show Phelps was ordered to spend the next 12 months on probation. His driver's license was also revoked for six months – and he must complete 50 hours of community service and enroll in a school for driving under the influence.
Phelps must also pay nearly $1,000 in fines and court costs… and he must pay restitution to the victim in the case at a later date.
The documents state that if Phelps – who was also prohibited from consuming alcohol or illegal drugs during his probation – complies with all terms of his plea agreement, he will be eligible to have his probation terminated early in six months.
Phelps was first charged in the summer of 2024 – after he was arrested for his alleged involvement in the June 19 accident.
The 24-year-old – an undrafted free agent out of Kansas – was released by the Browns shortly after the incident … and he has not yet been signed by another NFL team.
