Caitlin Clark was momentarily speechless when the Indiana Fever coaching staff and management wished her a happy birthday on Wednesday.
Dressed in team colors and wrapped in Gatorade towels after her workout, Clark got a pleasant surprise when she entered the weight room at her training facility.
The 23-year-old left her belongings and walked towards a cheerful rendition of 'Happy Birthday' by the staff, with a big smile on her face.
Clark smiled at the healthy gesture and jokingly orchestrated the chant at one point as they lit a cake for him. They also had balloons with the number 23, which indicates how old he turned.
“Thank you, you didn't have to do that,” Clark said after the cheering died down and the candles were blown out. 'Were you guys waiting for me?'
“I was sitting there,” she continued. One of the staff members then asked Clark if he had made a wish.

The WNBA rookie of the year was also seen with Taylor Swift at the Texans-Chiefs game

Clark has been enjoying his offseason after a monumental rookie campaign in Indiana.
Upon her entry, Clark spearheaded a massive increase in the WNBA's viewing and attendance figures. Additionally, she racked up on-court records that landed her in fourth place in MVP voting.
The No. 1 draft pick led Indiana to its first playoff appearance since 2016 despite being swept by the Connecticut Sun in the first round.
After ruling out the Unrivaled 3-on-3 league during a downtime, Clark has been seen at several sporting events.
On January 16, Clark and her boyfriend Connor McCaffery enjoyed courtside seats to watch the professional women's volleyball match between Indy Ignite and Grand Rapids Rise. Ignite swept the opposition against Fever Star.
During the NFL divisional playoffs, Clark was seen alongside Taylor Swift and Ed Kelce in the suite as the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Houston Texans to advance to the AFC title game.
Clark and the Fever will return to WNBA action on May 17 when they take on Angel Reese and Chicago Sky.
