AC Milan are the latest club to consider a possible loan deal for Manchester United misfit Marcus Rashford.
The striker, who fell out of favor with Ruben Amorim and missed the midweek defeat to Newcastle through illness, is ready for a new challenge and is available this month.
Ideally, United want to sell him for £40m and that figure, plus his salary of more than £325,000 a week, are the main obstacle.
United will consider loan offers with an obligation to buy and several clubs have expressed interest.
Rashford has rejected approaches from Saudi Arabia and wants to remain in Europe to advance his career in England.
His preferred destination was Spain but it is unlikely that that option will open until summer and would depend on his performance during the second half of the season.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been tasked with solving Milan's attacking problems and Rashford is a name that has been thrown forward.
Rashford played alongside Milan boss Ibrahimovic (left) at Old Trafford in 2016 and 2018.
Napoli have made initial inquiries, but club experts consider the financial implications of such a move to be too “exaggerated.” Premier League teams are also weighing offers, but they would be well below what United want.
United are desperate to offload players to help Amorim get players more suited to their system. A striker and a left back are considered priorities, but are hamstrung by PSR guidelines as they spent too much on Erik ten Hag.
Milan have struggled for goals this season with Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic injured and are eighth in Serie A.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Rashford's former teammate, has been given the task of trying to find solutions and the England international is one of the names that has stood out.
Rashford has missed training through illness this week and looks unlikely to start for United under Amorim unless there is a substantial shake-up.
