AC Milan's new manager had to be stopped by his own players as he attempted to confront the Rossoneri captain after Milan's late victory over Parma.

Sergio Concicao's early career as Milan boss has not been without drama since he took charge at the end of December. In his first two games, he guided Milan to the Supercoppa Italiana, with Tammy Abraham scoring in the 93rd minute for Pip Fierce City rivals Inter Milan in a Derby final.

However, things have taken a sour turn at the San Siro, with chaotic scenes of infighting witnessed during the aftermath of Milan's clash with relegation-threatened Parma on Sunday.

Two stoppage-time goals from Tijjani Reijnders and Samuel Chukwueze saved Milan's blushes as Concicao's side snatched a dramatic 3-2 comeback victory, but it's not all smiles at full time.

As the whistle blew, an apoplectic concept became clear for Davide Calabria, the Milan skipper with over 270 appearances, trying to confront the Italian defender in Moment of Madness.

The pair fired shots at each other before being separated by teammates, with former Chelsea man Abraham among those trying to calm the Portuguese boss down.

It acted as a damning reality check for Milan new boy Kyle Walker, who watched from the stands following his loan move from Manchester City last week.

Both the player and the manager have since come out and addressed the situation, although they presented different reactions to the scrap on the field.

Concicao seemed to spin the fight in a positive light, comparing it to a father-son fight.

He told Dazn: 'Sometimes with the adrenaline that comes during the games, you have to live with passion in this sport, I think that's a good thing.

'It's okay for me because it was a situation in the game. As you are with your children: if they behave badly, you must act accordingly. I'm direct, they know we are creating a bond and the spirit shown at the end.

Calabria, on the other hand, was much more apologetic and reduced the discussion to adrenaline overload.

“Honestly, these are things that happen on the field: a misunderstanding between the two, we care a lot about this match,” he said.

'The adrenaline was pretty high, and we cleared things up. We just didn't understand something between us. We solve it.

'It won't be the first or the last time something like this happens. It is common in football.

'I also apologize because it is not a pleasant thing. The most important thing is the team and changing the game.

The long-term repercussions of the incident remain to be seen, with the possibility that Calabria, a natural right-winger, could be on the verge of losing his place in the team to former Manchester City captain Walker.
