The AFL is investigating an exchange between Collingwood Craig McRAe coach and Gran Western Sydney coach Adam Kingsley, after the heated Opening clash on Sunday.
The incident occurred during the convincing victory of 52 points of the giants over the Uracacas in the Engie Stadium.
The Fox Footy cameras captured the coaches exchanging words on the borderline.
The confrontation began after GWs Toby Bedford player admitted a 50 -meter penalty, which led directly to a Collingwood goal by Brody Mihocek.
McRAE was seen sarcastically applauding when Bedford left the field, which led Kingsley to react immediately.
Speaking on Monday, Kingsley clarified exactly what happened during the exchange.

Kingsley explained that although there was no abusive language, he felt that McRAe's gesture to Bedford was inappropriate.

McRAE defended his actions as playful instead of provocative.

Despite their friendship and history working together in Richmond, Kingsley remained firm in his belief that McRAe's actions were inappropriate.

The AFL has previously dropped over the altercations of the bank and both Kingsley (in the photo) and McRAe could be fined or worse for their interaction
Lewis warned that coaches have the responsibility of maintaining composure, particularly when tensions are already high during matches.
“If that is a different player, he could light things in the bank,” Lewis said.
Historically, AFL has firmly acted in lateral interactions due to concerns about establishing bad examples for junior football levels.
Last season, Ken Hinkley from Port Adelaide received a fine of $ 20,000 for inappropriate interactions with Hawthorn players during a heated semifinal.
Chris Scott from Geelong also received a fine suspended in 2021 for getting involved with opposition players after a controversial incident in the field.
Fox Footy analyst David King, argued that AFL needs clear rules about these bank interactions to maintain appropriate standards at all levels.
