RB Leipzig manager Marco Rose says his side are determined to retain Arsenal target Benjamin Sesko in this window.
The Gunners are looking for an attacker and Sesko has been considered, but it has been suggested that a summer move may be more appropriate if an approach is made.
When asked before Leipzig's Champions League clash against Sporting Lisbon, in which Sesko scored the first goal in his team's 2-1 victory, whether the striker was not available for transfer, Rose responded: “Yes, that is still the case.”
Sesko, 21, has scored 14 goals in 26 games this season for the German team, including four in seven Champions League games. He has become one of the best-rated forwards in Europe.
Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Arsenal are looking for solutions in this window and have been exploring several options, including Wolves' Sesko and Matheus Cunha.
If his solution is indeed Sesko, a move this month seems unlikely following the Rose verdict.

Rose, however, said it is “still true” that Sesko will remain at the club ahead of his team's Champions League clash against Sporting Lisbon.
In the absence of a “natural” number 9 and Gabriel Jesus suffering a season-ending ACL injury, Kai Havertz has been playing the role of Arsenal's centre-forward in recent games.
His header in the 3-0 win over Dinamo Zagreb was his 14th goal of the season, suggesting the Gunners could do without signing a striker this winter.
But Mikel Arteta's side continue to miss opportunities regularly and are the Premier League's fifth-highest scorer as they continue to chase Liverpool.
The Gunners currently sit six points behind Arne Slot's men, who have a game in hand, in the title race. Sesko's Leipzig is fifth in the Bundesliga and 30th in and out of the Champions League.
