According to reports, an assistant referee of the English Football League has been accused of a child sexual crime.

Gareth Viccars will appear in court, as he faces a position of penetrating sexual activity with a girl between 13 and 15 years.

Viccars, 46, has already appeared in the Willesden magistrates court last week and will be presented at Snaresbrook Crown Court on March 3, where a statement will be presented, according to Sky Sports News.

They are currently stopping it.

It is understood that Viccars has not officiated in any match of this campaign.

“As soon as the accusations came to light, Mr. Viccars was immediately suspended,” a spokesman for the referees' body told Sky News.

“As the matter is the subject of a current police investigation, we are not in a position to comment more.”
