Barry Ferguson has sealed a dramatic return to the Rangers after being appointed as the new interim manager of the club in a short -term agreement until the end of the season.
Ferguson has taken the reins of Philippe Clemente after the besieged Belgian was fired on Sunday night after the 2-0 defeat at home against St Mirren over the weekend.
A legend of the club in Ibrox as a player, Ferguson will be assisted in the role of former players of the Neil McCann Rangers, Billy Dodds and Allan McGregor, as well as Issame Charai, which served under Clement.
The former Ferguson Club captain, who won five league titles in his two spells as a Rangers player, will go to the media for the first time this afternoon before the trip from tomorrow to Kilmarnock.
The 47 -year -old will be in the refuge for the trip to the Rugby Park while seeking to inject some very necessary positivity in what has been a sad campaign for the Rangers.

Although he has had the task of stabilizing the ship, Mail Sport understands that it is unlikely that Ferguson will be offered the role beyond the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Ferguson is the man in charge of restoring some positivity to the Rangers, with Executive President Patrick Stewart insisting that he will have the full support of the Board.
Speaking to the club's internal media channel yesterday, Stewart made it clear that Clement simply could not continue, despite having previously supported the manager under the fire last week.
“Philippe and his team have worked tirelessly during their time at the club and have played an important role in the development of young players of the first team,” said Ibrox's executive director.
'I want to reiterate, the problems we face run deeper than the manager. The soccer review in progress seeks to address these problems, and we will continue to implement their findings in the coming weeks and months before appointing a new permanent manager.
'When I spoke with Rangerstv last week, I was clear that everyone is judged by the results, and no one will have unlimited time in any role in the club.
'Ultimately, the team's response after his early departure from the Scottish Cup was a reason for deep concern, which led the Board to conclude that measures should be taken now.
