Bears Quarterback Caleb Williams Falls for Embarrassing Prank by Astute NFL Fans

Caleb Williams appears to have been the victim of an embarrassing prank involving a group of kids posing as the Bears' new head coach.

Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson will reportedly interview for the position on Saturday, following the firing of Matt Eberflus earlier this season.

In a prank that has flooded social media, a group of kids texted a number supposedly belonging to Williams, then FaceTimed someone resembling the Bears quarterback and top draft pick.

'Hi Caleb, I'm Ben Johnson. I just wanted to communicate ahead of time before it goes out to the media. I will accept the HC (head coach) job,' they initially wrote in a text message.

'I am very excited to work with you in the future. Great things.' At first, the message provoked a skeptical response. 'In fact? Ben', he said.

'Yeah. I wanted you to be the first to know. “We will talk more as the season ends,” the group responded.

The figure resembled Williams.

He took the joke in good humor.

The group later FaceTimed the number and someone resembling Williams answered the call.

Williams was selected by the Chicago Bears with the first overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft.

This time the recipient, said to be Williams, was more receptive. 'Okay, great. 'Sounds good,' they said.

'I'm definitely (definitely) excited for the future! Let's get this shit going and turn it around and do what hasn't been done in years! In the meaning!! Go kill! We'll talk soon.'

Johnson currently runs the offense for the Detroit Lions, who are preparing for the playoffs as they chase their first Super Bowl crown.

After exchanging messages, the group video called the number and was answered by someone who looked a lot like the Bears quarterback.

“Hi Caleb, it's me, Ben Johnson,” one of the boys said, unable to contain his laughter. 'Come to the Dolphins, brother!' another shouted.

After telling his friend to “shut up,” the guy in front of the camera said, “You're a great quarterback, I'm so glad you have a new head coach.” I don't know if it's Ben Johnson. I'm sorry about this.'

The person on the other end of the line, apparently Williams, took the joke in good humor. 'Everything good, everything good. Peace out!' he said, before the pranksters celebrated wildly in his living room.
