Boxing fans have unanimously cast doubt on Tyson Fury's retirement announcement, with Gypsy King shockingly stating that he will not fight again on Monday afternoon.
The 36-year-old, who is still recovering from his heavyweight championship rematch loss against Oleksandr Usyk, shocked the boxing world by filming a video message explaining his plans to retire.
It had been suggested that Fury would negotiate a Battle of Britain showdown against Anthony Joshua later this year, but those plans have now been cooled by the Gypsy King, who has made similar claims of distancing himself before.
Bidding farewell to the sport that has made Fury a two-time world champion, the heavyweight veteran declared: “Hey everyone, I'm going to make this short and sweet,” he said in a clip he shared on social media.
'I would like to announce my retirement from boxing. It has been wonderful, I have loved every minute.
'I'm going to finish this… Dick Turpin was wearing a mask. God bless you all, see you on the other side. GET UP!'.

However, instead of receiving praise and well wishes from his fans, Fury was ridiculed on social media by critics who claimed it was a stunt to obtain a more lucrative contract offer.
Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn expressed similar thoughts when reacting to Fury's cryptic comments which come just days after Hearn revealed Wembley had been booked for a blockbuster showdown with AJ.

A third comment attacking the Gypsy King also added: 'I'm just trying to raise his fee for the fight with AJ. See you, Tyson.'
“By 'the other hand' he means in a few months when he announces his next fight,” said another online rejector who doesn't believe Fury is telling the truth with his retirement.
Fury's announcement has shocked boxing fans around the world, but some are questioning whether it is genuine given Gypsy King previously retired from the sport.
In 2022, Fury revealed he was “done” with boxing after beating Dillian Whyte, only to return at the end of the year after six months to fight Derek Chisora.
After beating Whyte, Fury had said: 'I'm done. Every good dog has his day. As the great Roman leader said, there will always be someone else to fight with. When is enough, enough?
Instead, Fury was ridiculed on social media by critics who claimed his retirement is a ploy to obtain a more lucrative contract offer.

Fury defeated Chisora by technical knockout before beating former MMA star Francis Ngannou by a controversial split decision.
Two fights against Usyk then followed with Fury's unbeaten record accompanying him and leaving a fight with AJ as the obvious next step before his retirement announcement.
