Brad Pitt And Angelina Jolie have finally closed the book on their divorce after it took them over 8 years to sort everything out… TMZ has learned.
In new court documents obtained by TMZ, Angelina signed her long-standing divorce on Christmas Day and filed the paperwork on Monday … with Angie renouncing her wife and family's support of Brad. The documents don't include an agreement about the former flames' six children together… but only two of the children, twins Knox and Vivienne, are minors.
The former celebrity couple – known in the press as “Brangelina” – have settled their contentious divorce after suggesting the end was near earlier this year… when their respective legal teams exchanged final financial disclosures – which it did something that usually happens just before the divorcing parties reach a final agreement.
And it's about time – because Angie filed for divorce in September 2016, citing irreconcilable differences at the time.
Although they were only married for two years before splitting up, they had been life partners for almost ten years before tying the knot…so yes, they had been together for a long time.
Brad and Angelina first met in 2004 while filming the big-screen remake of “Mr. and Mrs. Smith.” However, since Brad was still married to Jennifer Aniston at the time, the two did not get together as an official couple until 2005.
Brad quickly moved in with Angie when he found out about his split and eventually welcomed six children into his family – including Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh and twins Knox and Vivienne.
Shortly after Angie filed for divorce, she accused Brad of physically abusing at least one of his children – although he always denied the claims and was later cleared by authorities in an investigation. Since then, Angie has been involved in ongoing legal battles.
In 2019, the exes were declared legally single by a judge… as their divorce proceedings dragged on. However, their divorce proceedings aren't the only legal drama for Brad and Angelina… remember, they're also in the middle of a nasty legal battle over their French winery.
BA sued AJ after she sold her share of her winery to a Russian oligarch's company without his permission, which he said was taboo. Although Brad recently won a legal victory in this case, the situation is far from over… There has been a heated argument over NDA claims recently.
Now that the divorce is over, one has to imagine that the winery case might follow suit…or so one would hope. To be continued…
