The football community met at the GMHBA stadium on Friday to celebrate the life of former AFL star Troy Selwood, who tragically died last week at the age of 40.
Troy, a talented midfielder, played 75 games for Brisbane's lions between 2003 and 2010.
Friends, family and former teammates, including a large number of players from the Geelong Cats, joined to remember the beloved husband, father and footballer.
Adam Selwood, Troy's twin brother, delivered a moving praise, sharing the unique link they shared.
“Having an identical twin is wonderful and complex,” Adam said.
“A twin is more than a brother, it is a constant presence, a better incorporated partner.”

He told the crowd full of his childhood full of intrepid competition and battles in the backyard.
“Every game we play in our backyard went to sheep stations,” Adam said. “If the blood was not divided, it was not played hard enough.”
Scott Selwood, another brother, talked about the unwavering support and breath of Troy throughout his lives.
“You have this Scottish, you're going to be great,” Scott recalled Troy saying every time he faced challenges.
The legend of Geelong Cats, Joel Selwood, the youngest of the four brothers, paid tribute to Troy's ability to make people feel good and the values instilled in them by their parents.
“Mom and dad, you did incredible job,” said Joel.

Troy Selwood's death has caused AFL calls to establish a mental health round to raise awareness and support for players fighting mental health challenges.
AFL is open to exploring this possibility, recognizing the importance of addressing mental health problems within the football community.
The former star of Carlton and Brisbane Lions Brendan Fevola recently broke the air during her radio program, asking for more mental health support for players after enduring their own fights in their game days.
“We see it all the time that players have mental health problems, and I feel that AFL is not equipped … or does not throw enough light on mental health for men,” said Fevola.

The director of inclusion and social policy of AFL, Tanya Hosch, says that a thematic round to highlight mental health was “one of the many suggestions that we will continue to consider.”
“We have the Spud game, which is a really important and extremely well supported game and something that St K Kbor has … I am sure we will continue to build on that,” said Hosch.
