- The Cameron Banroft and Daniel Sams BBL season reached a premature end
- They were involved in a horror collision in January while playing for thunder
Cameron Bancroft said he has had to work through a 'trauma' after his horror collision with teammate Daniel Sams during Big Bash League last month.
Bancoft has not played the Cricket since January 3, after Sydney Thunder crashed with Sams while the couple tried to take a capture during the dramatic victory of the final ball of their team against the Perth Scorchers.
Both players spent the night at the hospital, with Bancroft suffering a broken shoulder and a broken nose after the disgusting shock.
Both players were on the sidelines for at least 12 days after having suffered brain shocks and lost the rest of the BBL season. Thunder would finally be defeated in the final by hurricanes.
Bancroft, meanwhile, has been appointed Red Ball captain of Gloudeshire for the next season of the County Championship and is shooting for a return to action before the English Cricket swing.
“The shoulder is tracking well, obviously a little trauma there to deal and drive, but I have been recovering quite well,” he said Gloudershire website.

Bancroft has also remained to breastfeed a broken nose and a broken shoulder after the incident
“It is actually new for me, injuring and losing the Cricket, so definitely learn some things that I have seen many other players experiment.”
'The body takes time to heal and return to that type of function, but I am approaching a lot and I am anxious to play a Crick in early March. It is exciting.
The Wicktkeeper of Western Australia has enjoyed a great year in all formats and rose to become the main scorer of Glouceshire during the Vitality Blast 2024 campaign with 534 races.
And anxious to return in time for the start of the championship season in April, Bancroft said I was doing everything possible to be the best possible.
“I will do everything in my possession to get there for the beginning of the season, obviously in Australia at this time with WA, we still have a bit to play here this season,” said Bancroft.
“I think I will keep my approach here and play well and I hope to have some success there, but I will be trying to get there and be there for the game one, so we will see how we are going.”
Upon receiving Gloudeshire's captaincy, he said: 'I am anxious for this summer. It was a real honor when Mark asked me. Graeme has led this group fantastically over the years, and has built a solid base. My role is now to see what I can bring as a leader, building what you have already delivered.
'We would have liked to work better last season, but there were still many positive aspects. If we build on those learning, we will be in an excellent position for the coming season.
