Carrie Underwood proves to be a consummate performer…after an awkward moment during her Inauguration Day performance.
Check it out… the “American Idol” alum is introduced as a singer for a subsequent performance of “America the Beautiful.” Donald TrumpHis swearing-in ceremony will take place in the Capitol Rotunda on Monday morning.
While the country star appears ready to wow the Washington, D.C. crowd, the inauguration's technical team isn't quite prepared… as the background music for her patriotic song cuts out before CU can utter a single word .
First, Carrie waits for the technical glitch to be fixed…and stands awkwardly while all eyes are on her. However, when it becomes clear that the background music is not being played, Carrie encourages the politicians to join her in an a cappella rendition of the tune.
However, it's safe to say that Carrie knows the lyrics better than the DC elite… Watch the video, many stumble over the lyrics as the “Before He Cheats” artist sings loudly into the microphone.
Maybe everyone should stay in their own lane!!!
As TMZ previously reported … Carrie was was named one of the Inauguration Day artists Days before Trump's inauguration. After being criticized for accepting the gig, Carrie issued a statement defending her decision… professing her love for the country and saying she was honored to be on this historic day to have a small share.”
She encouraged others to view her decision as one made in the “spirit of unity”… However, we're not sure her online critics would agree.
Still, Carrie is the one who gets the last laugh… because she sounded great despite the tech drama.
