The Sugar Bowl will be postponed 24 hours after a terrorist attack in New Orleans' French Quarter, according to a news station. WDSU.
The game, a College Football Playoff quarterfinal matchup between No. 2 Georgia and No. 7 Notre Dame, won't be played until Thursday after initially being scheduled for 8:45 p.m. ET on New Year's Day .
Law enforcement officials, including the FBI, are investigating the mass casualty event as a terrorist attack after ten people were killed and at least 30 injured in the early morning hours of Wednesday.
This comes after initial reports from New Orleans police indicated the game would go ahead as scheduled.
The attack comes weeks before the city hosts Super Bowl LIX and has raised security fears ahead of that event.
