Championship club sacks its SECOND manager of the season, with boss sacked after nine-match winless run

Stoke City have sacked manager Narcis Pelach after just three months in charge.

The Potters made the decision after Thursday's 2-0 home defeat to Leeds extended their winless run to nine.

Pelach was named to the championship team in September following the sacking of Steven Schumacher.

Stoke managed just three wins out of 19 in that time and are now three points above the relegation zone.

The Club's Sporting Director, Jon Walters, said: 'Narcís is a talented coach with enormous potential, he works tirelessly and I have no doubt that he will achieve success in the future.

“However, given the results and performances of recent weeks, we have to accept with hindsight that he has proven not to be the right person for this club at this time.”

“I take full responsibility for that and am absolutely determined that we will now make the right decision moving forward.”

“Every decision we make is driven by our love for Stoke City and our absolute determination to make the Club successful.”
