James Brayshaw's comment during the Boxing Day test veered into very personal territory when the Channel Seven star spoke of still feeling pain after his 2014 divorce from his first wife, Sarah.
The 57-year-old former cricket star was talking about Oscar Piastri's appearance at the MCG on Saturday when he was asked about living in the same prestigious Melbourne suburb as the Australian F1 talent.
“His family is Brighton here, Bayside in Melbourne,” Brayshaw said on Triple M radio's coverage of the game.
“You used to live there, didn't you?” asked his co-commentator, former Australian cricket star Greg Blewett.
“Yeah, and then, um… then, ah… then I got divorced,” Brayshaw explained, eliciting a laugh from Blewett.
He then described Australian captain Pat Cummins hitting Indian batsman Nitish Kumar Reddy with a delivery.

The Channel Seven star has now moved on with his second wife, Lisa Christie (pictured together).

'Not as much as me, but he's suffering!'
That last comment made Blewett and fellow Triple M star Isabelle Westbury burst out laughing.
Brayshaw split from Sarah in 2014 after they had four children together.
“Sadly, after 23 years of marriage, Sarah and James Brayshaw have confirmed that they are going their separate ways,” the couple said in a joint statement.
“They remain good friends and are committed and loving parents to their four children, who will always be their priority.”
Two years later, Brayshaw spoke openly about some of the issues that may have influenced the fight.
“I have to get better as a father and a partner, be a little closer, not be stressed and exhausted when I am,” he said. The age after leaving his jobs at Channel Nine and as president of the North Melbourne AFL club.
Brayshaw and Christie married in a star-studded ceremony in Perth last year.
“That's the part of my life where I've been terribly wrong for too long.” That's priority number one.'
The West Australian moved on with Lisa Christie in 2017 and the couple tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony in Perth last November, a year after he popped the question while on holiday in Italy.
Blewett presented the bride and groom with their rings, and former AFL chief executive Gillon McLachlan emceed the event.
Other famous faces in attendance included past and present football stars Brad Scott, Alastair Clarkson, Sam Newman, Brian Tayor, Luke Darcy, Nathan Brown, Campbell Brown, Don Pyke, Garry Lyon and Billy Brownless.
Several notable cricketing figures were also present, including Adam Gilchrist, Arren Lehmann, Justin Langer, Mark Taylor, Tom Moody, Dennis Lillee and Brendon Julian.
Brayshaw's nephew Angus Brayshaw, who was playing for the Melbourne Demons at the time, was at the wedding with his fiancée Danielle Frawley.
Media titan Craig Hutchinson admitted the sheer number of famous faces on the guest list was “bizarre”.
“It was a wonderful night, congratulations to James and Lisa,” Hutchison said on his Sounding Board podcast.
“It would be fair to say that a decent cricket 11 chosen from the wedding was a pretty strange night in terms of the size of the identities there.”
