Chelsea are preparing an initial offer for Alejandro Garnacho, and could have a free hand to sign the Manchester United star.
The Red Devils striker has struggled to fit into Ruben Amorim's system since Erik ten Hag left the club, and has been of interest to the Blues, who are looking for a new player this month.
The Blues have been in something of a war with Italian side Napoli in a bid to sign the 20-year-old, but Antonio Conte and company are also in talks with Borussia Dortmund to sign winger Karim Adeyemi.
If a move for Adeyemi goes through, it is unlikely that Garnacho will also join the club, meaning Chelsea would have the power when it comes to a possible destination.
He has also been linked with Napoli, but the Italian side are now understood to be looking elsewhere.
