Follow Mail Sport's live blog for the latest results and updates from the World Darts Championship quarter-final games as Chris Dobey takes on Gerwyn Price and Michael van Gerwen takes on Callan Rydz at Alexandra Palace.

Is the door open for van Gerwen?

After Dobey vs Price, Michael van Gerwen will face Callan Rydz, who has been one of the stories of the tournament.

It's fair to say it's been a difficult year for van Gerwen, but the Dutchman has shown signs of returning to his best in recent weeks.

And with the likes of Luke Humphries and Gary Anderson out, the door has been left open for the 35-year-old to win his fourth World Championship, and first since 2019.

On Monday he recorded a 4-2 victory against Jeffrey de Graaf in the round of 16.

Protest at Price Palace

Who can forget this incredible moment from the quarterfinals two years ago?

We mentioned Price was something of a pantomime villain at Alexandra Palace, but in the 2023 tournament he was apparently too much for the Welshman.

Trailing 3-1 against Gabriel Clemens, he emerged for the fifth set with ear protectors on in a notable sign of defiance – or perhaps protest – towards a hostile crowd.

Unfortunately, this unprecedented move did not work, as Price could not avoid being eliminated in a surprising result by the German.

Chris Dobey vs. Gerwyn Price

First up, we have Chris Dobey versus Gerwyn Price, pitting the world number 15 against the world number 10.

Price has always been something of a pantomime villain at Alexandra Palace, although we haven't seen the Welshman take much beating this year.

It promises to be a fantastic match against Dobey, who always finds a way to compete in these big television tournaments, although he has never made it past this stage before.
