Claressa Shields raves about the new biopic “The Fire Inside,” which chronicles the boxing star's tumultuous childhood in Michigan… a “surreal” film that “T-Rex” says will have a positive impact on countless people!
“I just think it’s very inspiring,” Shields said TMZ Sports. “I’ve seen my film nine times now and I can see it Ryan fate portray myself as well as she does. I know The Fire Inside will change lives. (Ryan) did such a great job.”
The film, released on Christmas, tells Shields' story as a young fighter in Flint – overcoming challenges such as sexual abuse, abandonment and poverty and reaching the Olympic podium, where she made history as the first American woman to win gold in boxing.
“Trauma, trauma, trauma. “It was very triggering when I saw my biopic for the first time,” Claressa admitted.
Because it's difficult to look back, CS, who says she's not a “super private person,” admits she didn't like the idea of looking back. But she took the chance and opened up, and it's already had a big impact.
“So many people have come forward. Little girls send me boxing videos. Parents send me videos of themselves crying. Girls going back to the gym and training. Everyone is just so inspired and motivated.”
Even though there's already a movie about her life, Shields says she's far from finished… and at this point, she has a big fight coming up in her hometown on February 2nd.

“I'm going against a bigger girl who is stronger and undefeated. And she's supposed to come in there and give me a black eye and a broken jaw. But I’m looking forward to getting rid of all that stuff!”
