Kai Rooney is already feeling the pressure due to his football heritage and being abused by fans because of his father Wayne, mother Coleen has revealed.
Rooney's 15-year-old son plays for Manchester United's youth academy, and joined in 2020 with dreams of emulating his father, a former England captain.
It's clear he has talent: in his first full season he scored 56 goals for the youth team.
Over the summer, fans even jokingly asked him to join the first team at Old Trafford after seeing him take part in some drills, with a video showing his strong finish.
But it hasn't all been plain sailing for the young talent, who was born in 2009, when Rooney was arguably at the peak of his powers with the Red Devils.
“A few years ago I remember my son Kai took a penalty at St George's Park where we were for a tournament,” Coleen told the Stick to Football podcast, presented by sky bet.

“It came to the penalties, Kai stepped up and just skimmed it. Then I asked him how he could take a penalty like that and he told me he was furious when the goalkeeper said 'Your dad is shit,' and he got really angry.
“It doesn't happen very often, but it happened then, and it shows in some games where they give you a little push.” However, he is very determined and usually does not give it importance.
Foul calls are something his father has had a lot of experience with throughout his playing and coaching career.
Wayne is hard to follow, but Kai seems to be making good progress at the youth level.
His father is a five-time Premier League champion, United's all-time leading scorer with 253 goals and even won the Champions League in 2008.
But Kai has been lighting up United's academy, racking up goals.
After watching a clip last year, one fan commented: “There's something special about it that we need to preserve and develop properly.”
His father Wayne should have more free time to watch his son play and help him progress on the field after being sacked by Championship club Plymouth in December.
Fans praised Kai after watching the clips, saying he has “something special” about him.

Rooney, 39, was sacked when the Devon club were bottom of the second division after a difficult seven-month tenure.
The nature of living alone on the south coast meant he had limited time to spend with his family, although they were reunited for Christmas Day.
