Dick Capri — a longtime actor and comedian — has died … TMZ has learned.
Capri's son, Jefftells TMZ … Dick was diagnosed with a bleeding, enlarged aorta that was inoperable due to his age.
Dick just continued to live, even though he knew his time was coming to an end. On Wednesday, he spent a lovely Christmas with his son, daughter-in-law and partner… and the crew's FaceTimed family who couldn't make it to Florida for the holidays.
The family got food at Dick's favorite restaurant… and eventually Dick went to bed and died in his sleep early on the morning of the 26th.
Jeff tells us his dad did it all…and adds that the world has lost one of the funniest, nicest people in show business – and a wonderful father too. He adds… “The world isn't as funny today as it was yesterday.”
Capri rose to fame in the early 1970s… by touring with Engelbert Humperdinck – Performing at venues such as Radio City Music Hall and several major resorts in Las Vegas.
Other crimes he has been linked to include: Tom Jones, Liza Minnelli And Frank Sinatra – some of the biggest stars of the 60s and 70s.
Capri made the jump to Broadway in 1991… as a co-star in Catskills on Broadway, a comedy special starring some of the other major acts of the time. The show ran on Broadway for more than a year before touring nationally.
Capri has appeared on national television several times over the years…and even performed for two presidents.
Dick was 93.
