The German Intelligence Service of Germany in 2020 put the probability that the Coronavirus behind the COVID -19 pandemic has been accidentally released from the Wuhan Virology Institute of China, on Wednesday two German newspapers reported on Wednesday.

BND declined to comment. When asked about the report at a press conference, outgoing Foreign Minister Olaf Scholz also declined to comment on Wednesday.
The documents reported that the evaluation was shared, however, with the Central Intelligence Agency of the United States in the fall of 2024.
A CIA spokesman said in January that the CIA has evaluated that Covid-19 pandemic is more likely to have emerged from a laboratory than from nature.
The CIA said at that time that it had “low confidence” in its evaluation and that both scenarios, laboratory origin and natural origin, remain plausible.
The Chinese government says that it supports and has participated in the investigation to determine the origin of COVID-19, and has accused Washington of politicizing the matter, especially due to the efforts of US intelligence agencies to investigate.
Beijing has said that there was no credibility to affirm that a laboratory leak probably caused the pandemic.
The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said last month that the Wuhan Institute of Virology never carried out any Ronight on Coronavirus function and that it was not involved in the creation or escape of the COVID-19 virus.
