Wile E. Coyote isn't the smartest mutt in the game… as evidenced by a Midwestern coyote that went viral for its daring supermarket break-in.
Check it out… Police officers were on duty at an Aldi grocery store in a Chicago neighborhood Monday after a wild animal entered one of the refrigerators. Observers quickly suspect that the unwanted guest is a raccoon or an opossum – as both animals are known to be annoying scavengers.
However, the surprise buyer is none other than a coyote… and two officers poke and prod around the deli with brooms.
The beast is determined to stay in the well-filled cooler, even when pulled out by the tail. Check out the video… the coyote makes a quick dive back into the cold food, much to the dismay of the police.
Where is the Road Runner when you need him?!?
The coyote has since been arrested, they say Fox 32 …the feral pooch is now in the care of Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation – where plans are underway to examine the animal and possibly release it back into the wild.
It remains unclear how or why this coyote ended up in the supermarket, but it's their mating season…so this clever coyote may have been on the hunt.
