David MuirHis new friend is standing behind him… No, it's not the clothespin he used to ball up his coat – it's a fellow TV professional, a weatherman, who admits he does the same thing.
Greg Dutra — an Emmy-winning meteorologist who works for ABC's Chicago affiliate — took to IG to defend the face of his network's national newsroom after people online called out the star for appearing to use a clothespin to better fit his coat to his well-built body.
The veteran weatherman posted a photo to Instagram on Friday that was taken from behind in the middle of a live shot … and his coat is also held in place with a clothespin — a move he says is pretty common in weather forecasting.
He tagged a few well-known news outlets in the post … and clearly wanted a change in coverage of Muir.

ABC
ICYMI… Muir was completely thrown off guard by social media users earlier this week when, while covering the LA wildfires, Muir turned around to point at something – and a large wooden pin stuck to his back What appeared was that his coat was attached to his body.
Many viewed it as a vanity measure and called DM out for it… although it's possible it had a practical purpose – to prevent the jacket from flapping around in high winds.
Whatever the case, Muir decided to make a change… because for his live recording on January 9th, he removed the pin and let the jacket fall more naturally – so he's officially quit the clothespin club.
Social media users may think David looked ridiculous with his wooden accessory – but other journalists seem to get it!
