A Canadian boy died in a resort in Jamaica, the authorities confirmed.
Global Affairs Canada says he is aware of the death of a Canadian citizen in Jamaica, and is providing consular assistance to the family.
“Our thoughts and sympathies are with people's loved ones,” the agency said in a statement.

“Due to privacy considerations, no more information can be disseminated,” added Global Affairs.
According to a complex spokesman, the incident occurred on February 3 at the Aquarelle of the Riu Palace in Trelawny, Jamaica, involving a child.
The complex expressed their condolences and said they are cooperating with the authorities.
“With a deep sadness and shock, we would like to express our most sincere condolences to the family and the loved ones of the deceased child,” said the resort spokesman.
“We are working closely with the authorities, providing all the required information and we continue to offer all possible support to the family during these painful moments.”
No more details have been published about the circumstances of the child's death.
