The hosts turned the ball over five times in a 45-31 loss at Ford Field, meaning their wait for a first Super Bowl appearance continues.
This is a tough blow for the city of Detroit after a sensational regular season in which they took first place in the NFC for the first time with a 15-2 record.
Lions head coach Dan Campbell fought back tears after their surprising playoff exit on Saturday.

As he became increasingly emotional, Campbell later added, “It's my fault.”
