Diego Carlos's yo-yo move to Fenerbahçe is back.

The Aston Villa defender was due to join Fenerbahce on Monday but the deal was delayed when Wolves made a move for the 31-year-old. However, Carlos has chosen to join José Mourinho in Türkiye.

wolves made a rival offer of £10 million for Carlos as his on-again, off-again move to Fenerbahce stalled again late last week. tThe 31-year-old was expected to arrive in Istanbul on Monday night before being presented as a Fenerbahce player, but terms have yet to be finalized.

The Brazilian centre-back was Jose Mourinho's top target, as Mail Sport reported earlier this month and a fee of around £10million was agreed.

Wolves have been chasing two centre-backs for this window, having signed Emmanuel Agbadou from Reims earlier this month, with Carlos reportedly brought in to help in their survival bid.

Galatasaray, Fenerbahce's fierce rival, also inquired about Carlos before Mourinho's club returned to negotiations.
