Elon Musk gave a speech with enthusiasm Donald Trump fans on Monday, hours after the president's inauguration … and he made a gesture reminiscent of a dark time.
At Capital One Arena, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO, laughing maniacally, strode to the podium and thanked the cheering crowd… and then slapped his right hand hard on his chest and held it out in front of him, palm down – in something that was very… looks suspiciously like a Nazi salute. He then repeated the same action to those sitting behind him.
Because of the provocative signal, many people online and on air are comparing the expression to the World War II-era “Sieg Heil” greeting to the dictator of Nazi Germany Adolf Hitler. This greeting reportedly harks back to a greeting from the ancient Roman Empire that was more commonly performed with a slap on the chest. Both greetings are generally associated with fascist history in Europe.
Musk called Trump's victory a “fork in the road of human civilization.”

Musk was widely popular mocked last fall When he jumped on stage for a Trump introduction in October, bouncing up and down and baring his stomach before giving a sycophantic speech to Trump and calling himself a “dark MAGA.”
But this time it looks a lot scarier.
