The Real Madrid defender, Raul Asencio, faces up to five years in prison for allegedly distributing an explicit video of a 16 -year -old girl.
Asencio, 21, has been under investigation, along with three of his former teammates, Ferran Ruiz, Juan Rodríguez and Andrés García, of the Madrid youth team, for the alleged incident that took place on June 15, 2023 in Gran Canaria and was reported to the Spanish police by the girl's mother less than two months later.
The mother said that one of the four men recorded an explicit video of her daughter before sharing. The plaintiff has declared that sexual activity was agreed, but the recording was not.
Asencio appealed that the Provincial Court of Las Palmas was withdrawn as a suspect in the case claiming that the evidence was speculative, but the charges against him have been confirmed.
The court determined that there are “reasonable indications” of criminal activity, with Asencio facing accusations of committing the crime of discovery and dissemination of secrets, in addition to distributing child pornography.
The Court's ruling also declared that one of the suspects said that Asencio showed him the video, with mobile records that indicate that he was received through WhatsApp.

The suspect telephone records also revealed conversations in which the plaintiff was spoken in a derogatory way.
Article 197 of the Criminal Code of Spain establishes that any individual declared guilty of recording and sharing an explicit video of a minor will face between three and a half and five years in prison.
This would fall to a prison sentence of two and a half years to four years if Asencio is declared guilty of non -consensual recording.
Prayer would be reduced if Asencio is convicted of sharing only the video but not recording it.
With the alleged victim as a minor, Asencio would be looking at a sentence between two and three years in jail and a fine.
The alleged incident occurred before Asencio debuted his senior debut for Madrid.
In the midst of injuries to Eder Militao, Antonio Rudiger and Daniel Alaba, Astencio has entered the first team in recent months after debuting for the men of Carlo Ancelotti in November.
He was appointed in the initial XI for the Madrid Champions League clash with Manchester City on Tuesday night.
