Former Manchester United talent Hannibal Mejbri received a straight red card for a violent stomp on the stomach of a rival defender.
The Tunisian progressed through the Red Devils academy after arriving from Monaco under-17s in 2019 for a fee of around £8million.
He made his first appearance for United in the 2020-21 campaign and became a mainstay at under-23 level.
The midfielder never managed to establish himself in the Red Devils team with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer or Erik ten Hag, despite developing during his loans at Birmingham City and Sevilla.
Hannibal, 21, moved to Burnley in August and has appeared in most of their games this season, either from the bench or in the starting XI.
But he produced a moment of madness during the Clarets' home game against Stoke on New Year's Day, stomping on an opposition player's stomach before receiving his marching orders.

The midfielder joined Burnley from Manchester United in August after five years at the club.
He made his first appearance in the 2020-21 season but failed to become a regular for the team.
Junior Tchamadeu launched a race with Hannibal for a loose ball as he raced towards the corner flag in the 87th minute of the clash at Turf Moor.
Stoke's right-back arrived first and the Tunisian petulantly shoved him, which was met with a shrill whistle from the referee.
But when Tchamadeu fell to the ground, Hannibal continued running and stomped on his opponent's body while he was on the grass.
The defender let out a scream and began writhing on the ground before his teammates ran towards the referee in protest.
The referee did not hesitate to show a red card and Hannibal was forced to walk off the field dejected.
Scott Parker's men were forced to play the rest of the match with 10 men and were forced to settle for a 0-0 draw, which meant they were unable to close the gap on leaders Leeds.
Burnley sit in second place, level on points with Sheffield United, and are just three points behind Leeds in the Championship standings.
The Tunisian international was labeled the 'new king of shit' for his antics at Elland Road earlier in the season, after he outrageously mocked his former rivals as he walked off the pitch.

Hannibal had no choice but to go down the tunnel for an early bath after a horrible stomp.
The midfielder missed the final minutes of the 0-0 draw that left Burnley second.
In September, he bravely provoked Leeds fans by holding the scoreboard with his fingers.
When he was substituted in the 73rd minute of the match, the young midfielder made sure to irritate and mock the large contingent of home fans.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, Mejbri can be seen approaching the home fans and looking at them, before pointing at them and at one point appearing to show them the 1-0 score with his fingers.
His bold actions immediately drew loud boos from both sets of fans in the stands, albeit for very different reasons.
Leeds fans quickly became enraged and shouted words of abuse at the star as three security staff led him away.
However, once he left the hostile side of the Leeds fans, he was greeted with cheers of approval from the Burnley fans, who applauded and enjoyed his daring antics.
He finished the show by fist-bumping the home crowd before turning to the Leeds fans for one last dig.
