Celtics star Kristaps Porzingis was asked Monday night about playing on MLK Day, and fans were stumped by his response.
Porzingis, who is Latvian, seemed not to know who Martin Luther King Jr. was when asked if he would face the Warriors on the holiday.
'It's huge. A lot of celebration today,' he said on TNT. 'It's good that we had police escorts to get to the arena. And it's always nice to play on vacation.”
And fans agreed after the awkward interview that the Liepaja, Latvia-born player was unfamiliar with the civil rights icon.
“He probably has no idea who he is,” said one said in X.
