Fans hit 'misfortune' to give Liverpool a penalty in Bournemouth after Cody Gakpo received a fault

Fans have criticized officials after Liverpool received a penalty in Bournemouth.

After a uniform start for the game, Arne Slot's side received a Spotkick after Lewis Cook had committed a foul to Cody Gakpo.

He followed a VAR check and Onfield's decision, with Mohamed Salah and then turning 12 yards to put the Reds 1-0 up.

However, fans believe that Gakpo fell to the ground after tripping, and turned to social networks to moisten.

One said: 'Liverpool gave one of the cheapest sanctions I've seen in years. Gakpo stumbles and puts on a pen.

Another wrote: “This is not a penalty, Gakpo stumbled and I am a Liverpool fan.”

“The fact that they verified only an angle and then said that the penalty is also a misfortune,” added a third fan in X.
