Fans outraged as NBA star Anthony Edwards fined 0K for using 'mild' profanity in post-game interview

NBA star Anthony Edwards has been fined $100,000 by the league for using “profane language” during an interview following the Minnesota Timberwolves' victory over the Houston Rockets on Friday night.

During Edwards' on-court interview, the Team USA guard says the phrase 'F*** it' and uttered 's***' twice in a span of about 10 seconds.

This is the seventh time Edwards has been fined in his NBA career and the fourth time this season, making the number skyrocket for using profanity.

“All I knew was that the play was for (Julius Randle) to be 14, a big or small pick and roll,” Edwards said. 'Once he picked it up, I have to go get it, shit. And (Nickeil Alexander-Walker) found me, cut me off. I'm like, “Shit, I'm going for the win.” As Gilbert Arenas said, 'I don't do overtime,' so fuck it!'

It's also Edwards' second fine of the week, as he was docked $75,000 on Monday for publicly criticizing officials.

Two weeks ago, Edwards was fined $25,000, also for using profanity during an interview.

The large amount Edwards owes angered some fans for using only profanity.

“Soft league,” said one NBA fan.

'100,000 for telling the truth?'

“The NBA can't be so soft.”
