- A former Liverpool goalkeeper coach revealed everything in the no 1 allison of the reds
- He detailed five reasons why he believes that the Brazilian is the best in the world.
- Listen now: Everything is starting! Is Alisson the best goalkeeper of the Premier League?
The former Liverpool goalkeeper coach John Achterberg worked with Alisson from the moment he signed an agreement of £ 66.8 million of Rome in 2018, then a world record rate for a goalkeeper.
Alisson maintained 21 clean leaves in his first season in the Premier League and won the Golden Glove.
Here Achterberg, now training in the Ettifaq, tells Simon Jones de Mail Sport why Alisson is the best in the world.
1. Management
Its handling is really good. People would be amazed at how much the ball catches in training.
Much of this is about time, speed and attacking the ball with both hands outside, but, more importantly, having your whole body in the right line. It is more difficult to catch if you do not make the correct shape of the body.
He worked on it with Taffarel in Brazil until he joined Liverpool, as well as the assistant coach Jack Robinson and me. He will still be working on that now with Fabian Otte.

2. Agility
From the moment he walked to the training field, his power and speed impressed me. Power is in its ability to take off, to push from the ground and change direction. You can train that to some extent, but yours is a natural ability.
It is incredibly fast when closing in one, what he showed for his rescue against Ousmane Dembele of PSG, and going down to the ground, as he did to detain Khvicha Kvarathskhelia in his close position.
3. Mentality
Ali is a very quiet person. He is excited in terms of wanting to win, but can be separated, so he sees the game calmly, which is really important to make good decisions.
He is a devout Christian often reads his Bible, what I am sure helps his mentality. You don't want an erratic goalkeeper. That calm is spread to the players in front of you.

They won five honors together, including the titles of the Champions League and the Premier League.

Alisson once praised Achterberg not only as a great goalkeeper coach but also 'a great person'
4. Attitude
He is the complete and complete guardian with whom I have worked because he wants to be the best in the world and continues to work hard.
His older brother was a goalkeeper, so he helps to have been in the family, but he always wants to be perfect in his concentration and exercises.
I always taught the younger archers to learn from Ali and people like Caoimhin Kelleher, Kamil recorded, Vitalv Jaros and Harvey Davies saw the standard they established in training every day.
5.
We work hard in the accuracy of kicks and do exercises that perfect all the different types of passes.
Ali was always good for his right foot, but he has worked hard to improve his left. He has that great Brazilian feature of hitting the ball on the side volley and has a great speed of the eyes, so he can quickly choose a player to establish against attacks.
It does not save many with their feet, his preference is to dive, but the fast feet game puts it in good positions to do so.
