Former Brazilian star Hulk was accused of “treason” after marrying his ex-wife's niece in a religious ceremony on Friday.
The 38-year-old, who plays for Atlético Mineiro, married Camila Angelo and the two had previously tied the knot in a civil ceremony in 2020.
He used Instagram to write: “Today I am a happy and fulfilled man, fulfilled in all areas of my life.”
Hulk was previously married to Camila's aunt, Iran Angelo, and the couple were together for 12 years. They had three children together between 2007 and 2019; his sons Ian and Tiago, and a daughter, Alice, who are cousins of his new wife.
In 2020, Hulk surprised many when he married Camila following the end of their 12-year relationship with Iran.
One of Iran's sisters, Rayssa, had some scathing comments towards Camila on social media.

Rayssa wrote: 'Today is a difficult day to accept, a day that reveals how far betrayal can go when it comes from the people we least expect. If my mother were alive, I'm sure she couldn't bear such a monstrosity. Seeing a granddaughter, who grew up under her roof, betray her own family in such a cruel way would be a blow impossible to overcome.
'Yes, exactly today, seven years ago, we were mourning the death of my mother. And today a macabre spectacle occurred that made me understand that she really couldn't be here, because she couldn't resist such shame and monstrosity!
'This photo was even taken at Judas's wedding!'
He added: 'It is sad to realize that Judas not only appears in ancient stories, he sometimes sleeps under the same roof, eats at the same table and, at the right moment, stabs himself in the back.
'Wanting what belongs to others, wanting to live the life of someone who trusted you, is a reflection of an empty heart, incapable of creating its own happiness.
'In this photo, my sister was the maid of honor at the wedding of the treacherous, manipulative, cruel woman who only thought about money. She was married and requested an annulment, claiming… but GOD is fair and nothing goes unnoticed before his eyes.'
In 2021, Hulk and Camila confirmed that they were expecting their first child, Zaya. Last year they announced that they were expecting a second child, Aisha.
Reports of Hulk and Camila's relationship emerged in December 2019, just five months after his marriage to Iran ended. It is believed that Hulk told his family about his relationship with Camila at the time, including his children Ian, Tiago and Alice.

The couple married in September 2020, when Hulk was still playing for Chinese side Shanghai SIPG.
A spokesperson for the striker said in a statement at the time: “Hulk called Camila's parents and brother and told them the truth.
'It was the Hulk himself who made the information public because he had nothing to hide.
“His position is transparency and he wants to avoid lies and malicious comments.”
The wedding ceremony took place in Hulk's hometown of Campina Grande, according to reports G show.
Hulk wore a burgundy suit as he walked down the aisle accompanied by his mother. Camila, for her part, walked to the altar with her father and wore an embroidered dress with a veil by designer Samuel Cirnansck.
Hulk entered the church to the sound of 'Sabor de Mel' by Damares, and Camila chose 'Que Bom Voce Chegou' by Bruna Karla. The ceremony took place at the Diocesan Cathedral of Our Lady of the Conception, with a sea of white roses filling the church.
Another party is planned for January 7 at a luxury resort in Joao Pessoa. 500 professionals participate in the organization of the party, including chefs, floral designers and sound and lighting technicians.
