A former child actor is among the victims of the massive Los Angeles wildfires … his mother said she couldn't save him in time.
Rory Callum Sykes – who appeared on the '90s British show “Kiddy Kapers” – was killed on Wednesday at his family's Malibu home, his mother, Shelley Sykeshe announced in an emotional social media post.
The British-born Australian actor, who was born blind with cerebral palsy, had his own cottage on the family's 17-acre Mount Malibu TV Studio property that burned down in the fire, according to his mother.
Shelley says she tried to put out the ash on his roof with a hose but couldn't because the water was turned off – adding: “50 brave firefighters had no water all day!”

“He said, 'Mom, leave me,' and no mother could leave her child. I have a broken arm, I couldn't lift it, I couldn't move it,” Shelley told local Australian outlet 10 News. “When the fire department brought me back, his house had burned to the ground.”
As of Saturday morning, there have been 11 confirmed deaths in all Los Angeles fires – more than 100,000 evacuation orders have been issued… that list grows overnight to Brentwood and Encino as the Palisades fire sweeps east.
Rory was 32.
