Former NFL player Emmanuel Acho has called Fernando Carmona 'trash' after his deliberate stomping on the ankle of a defenseless opponent.

Furious college football fans took to social media over the weekend to call for Carmona to be banned for life after shocking foul play in the Arkansas Razorbacks' 39-26 victory over Texas Tech in Friday's Liberty Bowl.

Footage captured the moment players from both teams attempted to get back to their feet after a six-yard run by Braylen Russell with Carmona, the team captain, standing on top of the pile.

Texas Tech player CJ Baskerville could be seen lying on the ground, apparently still on the ground after making a tackle.

It was at that moment that Carmona intentionally stomped on Baskerville's ankle, pushing all of his weight into his opponent's leg.

The act sparked a furious reaction online with Baskerville and fans criticizing Carmona for the disgusting act.

And former NFL star Acho, who played for the Cleveland Browns, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants in his career, has now weighed in.

He posted on X: 'I'm sharing this because number 55 (Carmona) is trash for this and deserves public shame. The end.'

It came after a furious Baskerville posted two videos of the incident on

In the footage, Baskerville can be seen writhing on the ground in pain afterwards, although the referees appeared not to see it.

Angry fans took to social media immediately after the incident to call for Carmona Jr. to be banned for life.

One wrote: 'This should be his last match. What a loser!'
