The New York Giants won't have a new head coach or general manager this offseason — and at least one person in Big Blue Nation is totally okay with that…former New York star running back Brandon Jacobs!!
The former tailback — who won two Super Bowls with the G-Men in the early 2000s — told it TMZ Sports On Tuesday he was happy with his old team's decision to stay Brian Daboll And Joe Schoen for 2025 … and explains: “You can’t get new coaches every three years.”
“I think this is the right step,” Jacobs said.
After all, the team has only posted a 9-25 record over the past two seasons…and there's not much optimism that they can turn things around in 1925.
But Jacobs reminded us that Daboll had the Giants in the playoffs in his first year as the team's assistant coach … meaning he thinks there are bigger issues elsewhere that the team should address before heading to the Head coach is appointed.
“You have to try to find a bigger problem that is occurring with a franchise,” he said. “Something doesn’t gel because you can see it.”
Jacobs recommended that the duo move down in the draft to acquire more players… believing that doing so could help increase their win total sooner rather than later.
