- F1 Pundit Johnny Herbert has lost his job as a butler of the FIA
- Herbert criticized Max Verstappen last year before the driver's father responded
Johnny Herbert has been expelled from his role as administrator of the FIA, and the governing body hinted at an irreconcilable clash between his commitments of the media and his official duties.
The measure arrives months after Herbert, a former Formula One driver, became an expert, found himself at the end of the acute words of Jos Verstappen after his criticisms in the driving style of his son Max Verstappen in Mexico last year .
Herbert, a three -time Grand Prize winner, expressed his concerns about the aggressive approach to Verstappen after the Dutchman received a 20 -second penalty in October.
The world champion's father responded by declaring: 'I think an administrator should not speak with the press at all and simply deliver work all the time. And that certainly is not the case now.
Three months later, the FIA announced Wednesday morning that Herbert would no longer be part of the administration panel, even for the Australa Grand Prix of the season on March 16.
A statement from the government body said: 'It is with regret that we announce today that Johnny Herbert will no longer fulfill the position of F1 Driver Steward for the FIA.

'Johnny is widely respected and contributed an invaluable experience and experience to his role. However, after the discussion, he agreed to mutually that his duties as administrator of the FIA and those of an expert in the media were incompatible.
“We thank you for your service and wish you the best in your future efforts.”
Herbert had persistently maintained that his views as an expert should not have influenced their credibility as a career official.
Speaking in November, he said: 'As I have always said, I am Johnny Herbert the butler and the professional during a race weekend, and Johnny Herbert is an expert on other occasions that expresses what he thinks.
'The racing track has been my world for 50 years. If I do not agree with what I see on the racing track, I will say it. It's not just Max. I will criticize anyone if I feel it is justified. I understand it from the point of view of Jos because he is his son. Is there any bias? No, of course not. He was not the only one to think that Max was exaggerated in Mexico. Lando Norris and Zak Brown also thought about it.
